Until God ordains otherwise, a man ought to bear patiently whatever he cannot correct in himself and in others. Imitation of Christ by John Kempis

Titus 2:7-8 “In everything set them an example by doing what is good. In your teaching show integrity, seriousness and soundness of speech that cannot be condemned, so that those who oppose you may be ashamed because they have nothing bad to say about us.”

Victoria Soto, 27, first-grade teacher gunned down at Sandy Hook elementary. Soto had taught for five years and was known by students as silly and loving.

Wounded Teachers

Did you know that most teachers get up at 5:30 am to get ready for their day of teaching? Yes a teacher does not have a 9 to 5 job. The good teacher plans an additional 4 hours approximately after work, because they have no time during the day. They probably make about 12.00 an hour once you round up the total hours spent daily. They do have a lunch break but usually it is spent with the students. In addition to that, they have playground duty, bus duty (rain or shine), science fairs, parent conferences, PTA, teacher meetings, and on and on. A really good teacher has to deal with jealous colleagues and a principles scrutiny.   You will not hear them complain because they have such a love for their students.

In the classroom, a teacher teaches much more than the subject. They help children get emotionally and intellectually prepared for life. Their communication skills have to be excellent for the student to understand. This must be done in a fun and engaging way. Some teachers have supplies, shoes, and clothes, purchased by the teacher for needy students, who cannot afford these things.

A teacher has to be excellent in time management and control-misbehaved children like a referee and coach. Be ready to talk to angry parents, who think they know more than the teacher and mediate the truth like a therapist about their unruly child. Then take the disrespect and criticism that they probably could not do a real job, so they went into teaching. “ Those who can do, do; those who can’t teach.” Just some of the remarks that are dished out without thought.

The students are another story. They think they can lie to their parents and get away with poor work and behavior. Why would a parent think that the teacher wants a student to fail and disrupt the class?

We all need to get more understanding of the time and work that a good teacher does to prepare our youth for a better tomorrow. Stop listening to the 1% about Bad teacher publicity and support the 99% of teachers that are giving their all to make this a better place for us all.

Proverbs 4:20-22 “My son, pay attention to what I say; turn your ear to my words. Do not let them out of your sight, keep them within your heart; for they are life to those who find them and health to one’s whole body.”

Are you tired of listening to the sick, complain about being ill? Why do we forget how it feels to be ill? How alone it is when no one seems to understand or care about another’s pain. We should pray to have compassion for those with cancer, mental illness, serious heart problems, arthritis, blindness, deafness, the crippled, and the list goes on. If they could have it their way they would be healed.

Cancer is an epidemic. Everyday you read about another suffering from cancer. The cancer treatments cause much suffering for the person and their family. Watching a family member fight for their life causes unspeakable pain.  Children sometimes are to young to understand such suffering. They demand to be cared for by the ill parent, causing more emotional stress for the whole family.

No one understands the Mentally Ill.  How terrible it must be to find yourself unable to understand that your not acting normal. The complete horror of being in a locked up ward because you have lost control.  Their brain is not functioning and yet it seems ok to them.  No one wants to be around them because they are out of control.  They feel so alone and inferior because they are talked down to by  many.  Even family members stay away.

Serious heart problems must be terrifying not knowing when your heart will quit working.

● To have to rely on medicine and watch everything you eat and still have problems.

●To be limited in how much you exercise and still have to exercise.

● Always feeling like a ticking time bomb.

Those who suffer with pain are always feeling bad. Everything they do is a chore because of the chronic pain. They can not stop their life’s activities because of the pain, and it takes so much effort to continue any task. They cannot sleep because it causes them to be tired as well as in pain.

Next time you hear someone say they do not feel well, Listen and pray for them. Let them know you care about them.

James 5: 13-15

Is anyone among you suffering? He should pray. Is anyone in good spirits? He should sing praise.

Is anyone among you sick?* He should summon the presbyters of the church, and they should pray over him and anoint [him] with oil in the name of the Lord,j

and the prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed any sins, he will be forgiven.*

Our health insurance is slowly getting worse and more and more are being improperly diagnosed, others are turned away that have grave illness.  If they cannot afford it thats to bad.  The elderly are allowed to die. The young are left to suffer with many illnesses that could be prevented. Greed has caused us to become callous to those “Wounded in our Midst”. The medical expense for those with mental illness is exurbanite.  Many are unable to hold a job so how do they pay?  They are on then on the streets living the best way they can.

Wake up Christians! The world is falling apart around us and we could care less.

Holy Trinity, I am grateful for your guidance and Loving Hope for the whole world to be completely healed.

God thank you for giving us your Son Jesus to take away our sins with such pure forgiveness.

Jesus, thank you for setting us free. Thank you Jesus for your many Graces that restores and heals our Soul.

Loving Father, touch me now with your healing touch. Send your healing angels to me. I know that your will is for me to be completely healed body, mind, soul and Spirit. Pour your blood Jesus over my whole body, over my Head to renew my mind, over my eyes that I may see only you, over my ears to hear your words only. Over my mouth that only kindness and Your words will come out of my mouth, Over my entire body even to the souls of my feet that I may bring only good news to this broken world.

In the name of Jesus I cast out anything that you did not put in me. Root out all unhealthy and abnormal cells and multiply my healthy cells. Destroy all tumors, growths and cancers. Pour your blood through my veins to open and heal my whole body. Heal my thyroid and metabolism. Help me to eat correctly and not harm my stomach and bowels. Renew my heart with healing and holiness. Cleanse my liver, gallbladder and pancreas and heal all the damaged areas. Strengthen and restore my bones, remove all plaque and arthritis. Build and heal my muscles to better run the race for your glory. Remove all infection and cleanse all inflammation by your precious blood. Strengthen and straighten my spine and nerves to work perfectly. Renew my mind and cure any mental illness. Restore what sin and unforgiveness has caused illness in my body, mind, soul and spirit. Replenish my strength with your Joy.

Touch my mind and emotions even in the darkest places that I have forgotten and fill me with your light. Show me all that I need to repent of and give me the courage to make a good confession.

Saturate me with your love and fill me with your Holy Spirit to cleanse my mind body and soul to purify me for your work, so that I may be successful in all your works.

I ask all this in you’re precious name Jesus.

Mark 14: 38 Watch and pray that you may not undergo the test. The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak.”

Our society has become a throw-a-way society.  Everyday we are sold by the media to make life easy and more comfortable for ourselves.

Media says to us that women need a career, so do anything you have to do to make that happen.  Even if you have to abort a baby to make it happen, its your body.  They do not tell you that you may suffer depression, death, or maybe never be able to have children in the future, just do it.

Evil on t.v. teaches our children that lies, sex before marriage, immodest dress, foul language, disrespect for authority, gluttony, drunkeness, rudeness and much more are many other sins are all ok.  Our children are being wounded by divorce, abandonment, stress, over indulgence, verbal abuse, physical abuse, under supervised, spiritually absent,  and it is all said to be acceptable.

Wounds from our decisions during youth can affect our whole life and our children’s lives.  Wounded children have much pain in adulthood.  Parents who do not want to grow up and only care about themselves, cause pain for their children.  Parenthood is a grave responsibility and no one seems to get it right. How can they with all the outside interference?  Scripture warns us about the sins of the flesh but there too many influences that contradict and confuse those without faith.  Yet that is all we see on the media because it sells.  Galatians 5: 19 – 21 “Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God.”

Selfishly we spend our lives doing everything our own way.  Some of us finally realize we do not know what is best for us.  God is trying to show us what true happiness is, not take away our fun.  We choose to misconstrue this happiness as carefree fun living.

When we come to realize that believing Jesus is the answer to our problems.  We find out how important it is to surrender to God’s will in our lives, and even then we fall because of the flesh.  Trying to be a moral responsible adult saves us from many wounds.  No one is perfect, just forgiven.

ROMANS 12: 9-10 Let love be genuine. Abhor what is evil; hold fast to what is good. Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor.

Inside the home many things happen, Birthdays, Holidays, everyday living, but the pain of a wounded spouse is usually suffered silently. The most pain is when one spouse dies and leaves the other to grieve their death. Most people do not want to hear how they are suffering because they do not understand. Nothing fills that open hole of grief, especially if they do not have a relationship with Jesus.

Divorce is a death of a marriage, that no one can understand except the two people living it. No one knows or cares how deeply they hurt. Their perception of the situation is hopelessness. If they do try to tell someone they trust, it is minimized as nothing or they say it is their fault. If they had only done this then it would never have happened. They still suffer even more from not being understood. There is a whole in their whole being that creates loneliness and resentment and even fear. If it is infidelity, their whole being has been betrayed and all they want are answers and when they get answers they still do not understand. Jealousy and confusion consumes them and they cannot see how to control the overwhelming emotions.

The Spouse that suffers in situations such as emotional abuse, sexual abuse, abandonment, work alcoholism, alcoholism, gambling, abortion are carrying shame that no one sees. They keep secrets and hide the embarrassment. How do you treat these people? Do you gossip about them? Do you pray for them? Do you try to find support for them?

It is really hard to follow the commandments of the Bible and teaching ofJesus in regards to marriage. We as Christians need to be as much help as we can in this wicked world that teaches that there are no consequences for sin. Communication is so important, especially positive words that heal not harmful words the wound. Hopefully they do not shut the spouse out with not communication.  Even in good marriages spouses are in pain.  They suffer problems with children, money, making decisions and both agreeing.  When both do not agree they are suffering and can cause each other deep wounds with their words.  It is good for them to look at themselves and make a good confession to prevent wounding each other.  Without Jesus as our rock and the word of God as our guide, our pain remains and we make decisions that are not our best interest or our spouses. We remain wounded and continue in our pain.

1 Corinthians 13: 4-7

Love is patient, love is kind. It is not jealous, [love] is not pompous, it is not inflated,

it is not rude, it does not seek its own interests, it is not quick-tempered, it does not brood over injury,

it does not rejoice over wrongdoing but rejoices with the truth.

It bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

  • Love never fails.

Ecclesiastes 9: 7 Go eat your bread with joy and drink your wine with a merry heart, because it is now that God favors your work.

Wounded by Alcohol and drugs.  The pain that comes from too much alcohol if continued can ruin a life and the lives of a family.  The media has glorified drugs and drunkenness as a real freedom without consequences.  If you ask the victims, it take years for their wounds to heal.  Society loves the movies but the same people will not hire a drunk because they are unreliable.  What a double standard  have when it comes to drunkenness.  The people that live with the alcohol abuser are helpless in changing the situation,  The pain that the spouse feels is frustration, fear, loneliness, helplessness, anger and there is no way out for them.  The sad part is if they act on these feelings the alcohol abuser just gets worse.  The children either see the alcohol abuser as distant and unreliable and they hate what it is  doing to them and the other parent.  So they begin to try to fix their situation or do the alcohol abuse themselves.  So much prayer is needed for these families and or individuals,   Not judgment, not gossip, not abandonment but prayer.  Our society needs to put the real face on this terrible problem of alcohol and drug abuse.  More needs to be talked about in our news, movies, t.v. talk shows of the cost to society that alcohol and drug abuse has harmed our society.  It has caused high divorce rates, child abuse, murders, young pregnancy, accidents, work loss, liver disease, cancer, rapes, alcohol poisoning in colleges, runaways, sexual disfunction, and so many other problems.  What is needed is more education of the harms not promotion of the fun and freedom being high brings.  There is nothing wrong with having a drink but over doing it can lead to a life with many problems.  Please when you see a family with these problems please pray them to admit the problem and for everyone of them to be healed.

Proverbs 29: 29-35

Who scream? Who shout?
Who have strife? Who have anxiety?
Who have wounds for nothing?
Who have bleary eyes?
Whoever linger long over wine,
whoever go around quaffing wine.j
Do not look on the wine when it is red,
when it sparkles in the cup.
It goes down smoothly,
but in the end it bites like a serpent,
and stings like an adder.
Your eyes behold strange sights,
and your heart utters incoherent things;
You are like one sleeping on the high seas,
sprawled at the top of the mast.
“They struck me, but it did not pain me;
they beat me, but I did not feel it.
When can I get up,
when can I go out and get more?”*

Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.

Words from our mouths may wound others deeply, into the depths of another persons heart and  may take years to heal.  Sometimes they never heal.  Teachers or parents who belittle a child’s intelligence, by calling them stupid or ignorant can cause them damage for years.  Those who knock another persons religion,  create divisions, and hatred , could cause wars.  Those who make fun of the elderly, special, or handicapped persons by calling them names,  appears to be the rule rather than the exception.

Managing our tongue  requires much  prayer and practice.  We cannot change others from making wicked statements.

James 3:8 ” But no human being can tame the tongue full of deadly poison.”  The stories of teens making fun, mentally and physically torturing them to point of suicide.

Proverbs 8: 21, “Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and who loves it will eat its fruits.”  These suicides cannot be healed, it is too late.  There are so many wounds for a family to grasp, that are confronting our youth today.  My prayers are with them all.

We have so many serious disconnects in our society.  Road Rage for example; Having to make sure you do not offend someone or they will verbally abuse or shoot you.    How did we get this wicked?  Our children feel free to be rude verbally to everyone, demonstrating no respect.  Parents that verbally and physically abuse their children can seriously damage their self image causing lower self esteem.  We all have witnessed it and we all have done it at one time or another.  We find it easier to say mean things than to complement someone else.  Lets encourage one another and praise God for all he has given us.

Matthew 12:36-37 “I tell you on the day of Judgement people will give account for every careless word they speak, for by your words you will be condemned.”

1 John 4: 18 There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.

Fear in our lives can cause pain for others and pain for us.  Fear in my life it keeps me from being free to love.  It causes me to stay away from all that is good for fear of failure, hurt, success, pain.  Susan Boyle is not very attractive and she was laughed at when on American Idol by judges, until she sang.  She did not fear but sang and was applauded.  What a great example of how to Love God, Ourselves and others.  Let others see the beauty in us.  Come out of our comfort zone and welcome the next person you see alone because of illness, handicap, mental illness, or you heard gossip about them.  It is good to be open and love all and do not fear what will happen.  We can stop wars with this advice.
