Until God ordains otherwise, a man ought to bear patiently whatever he cannot correct in himself and in others. Imitation of Christ by John Kempis

September 11, 2018 Catholic Scripture reading

I wrote this for a Catholic daily reading. It was rejected because it was poorly written and no way for them fix it, to put it on their website. I am putting it on my blog because I think it is prophetic, considering it was written last November. The other reason it is prophetic, is the news of the leadership in Catholic Church has just been put into the light. They were afraid of upsetting leadership. SO SAD. My proof FEAR is ruining our Catholic Church.

Luke 6: 6-11

On another sabbath he went into the synagogue and taught, and there was a man whose right hand withered.  The scribes and the Pharasees watched him closely to see if he would cure on the sabbath so that they might discover a reason to accuse him.  But he realized their intentions and said to the man with the withered hand.  “Come up and stand before us.”  And he rose and stood there.  Then Jesus said to them, “I ask you, is it lawful to do good on the sabbath rather than do evil, to save life rather than to destroy it?”  looking around at him, “Stretch out your hand.”  He did so and his hand was restored.  But they became enraged and discussed together what they might do to Jesus.

Where do you stand when someone is using religious law to condemn others?  Are you an accuser or a courageous lover towards all?   Fear causes us to lose sight of real love and compassion. We look for reasons to argue with those who threaten our rigid traditions and even chase them off.  Is it religious jealousy that enraged the Pharisees or Jealous Pride? Was Jesus a threat? Even though Jesus knew he would be plotted against he still restored the mans withered hand.  He knew and we also know when leaders are looking to falsely accuse us.  Goodness always threatens those who are blinded with envy and hate.  How do we feel about those who are filled with goodness?  Maybe threatened that we are not good enough?  Maybe we like power and control?  Do we save life or destroy it?  Our hardhearted sin never makes sense after the fact.  Now in this case, Jesus’ perfect love, courage, and compassion brought life to a withered hand.  Help us repent of all religious competition and fear and help us choose life instead of death.

Lord help me to be courageous and ignore the majorities prejudiced religious accusations. Help me to be loving and compassionate and bring healing to this sick world. May the church leaders and congregations repent and bring back the lost sheep who are wounded and need healing.

September 11th 2001, is our reminder of what Religious hatred and prejudice can do, at its very worst. Do you pray for peace?  Our Lady of Fatima warned us in 1917!  Did you listen? Pray the Rosary.

What Do You Accept

What you do matters but not much?  What you are matters tremendously.  Catherine Doherty

In these extraordinary times.  So many are believing what they admire and revere allows them to ignore sin in their lives.  We have a false sense of superiority.  I believe that is why God is not needed in so many of our lives as Christians.  We think we are God and we are above sin

Not too long ago I was going to my High School reunion of 50 years.  I had reconnected with some old High School friends on facebook. It was so much fun to see and hear from them.  Yet I saw a bragging and comparing that shocked me.  It occurred to me that some were comparing how old others looked compared to them.  Everyone looking for a way to be better that the other.  Look at my status.  How sad that they were not looking for the Godliness of each other especially at this age.  I met one women from school in Sams Club and she said it made her sick the way we were talking about God all the time on facebook,  She was referring to me.  It was sad to see that she was still very unkind and rude and had not changed after all these years.

Who do you accept as part of your inner circle?  Do you accept them if they have a title.  Or do you make sure that you have titles so that you can lord it over others?

I saw a really cool picture of a brown egg and a white egg used to explain the differences in skin color.  When they cracked the egg open, they both were the same.  I loved that it showed we are the same even though we appear different on outside

That is the message of this article, we are all the same and hurt inside the same.  I write for my own healing.  It helps me to explain my thoughts and feelings.  I then have inner healing.  My hope is that you are healed also.

Here is a list of examples where we exclude others;

Only accept your nationality and exclude everyone else

Only accept those of your religion

Only accept those who are your political party

No accepting your spouses mother by making fun or pointing out faults to embarrass your partner.

Leaving out Older or younger people out because of their age

Teachers that work hard are ridiculed and feared by those that don’t do their jobs

Exclude those who are new

When someone has goodness exclude them

When you think someone is smarter or not at smart as you

Looking down on poor, or anyone you perceive to be less affluent.

Thinking you are responsible for what God has done for you, and judging others with bad luck as lesser

Bully’s try to bring down the good because of there own feelings of fear and anger.  No one likes a bully and they also do not want them to hurt them.  ,We see bullying in Church leadership.  It has no place but we see it. When we see Aggressivenes,Scowling and critical attitude in our relations, with our friends or subordinates, it is bullying.

On facebook , a Teacher showed the class 6 shiny apples, all looked good.  She earlier had taken one of the apples and thrown it on the floor many times.  When class started she started passing 5 of the apples around and told the kids to say nice things to the apples.  Then she took the one she had thrown on floor, they did not know this , and told them to say mean things to the apple.  When they had finished she cut all the apples open.  The one they said bad things to was all bruised inside.  She then told them that is what bullying does to our insides.  No one could see that the apple was bruised from the outside.  She then said it hurts on inside but we cannot see it on the outside.

1John 4: 18

There is no fear in love, but perfect love drives out fear because fear has to do with punishment, and so one who fears is not yet perfect in love.

If we are hurt over and over again we begin to fear everyone.  We react negatively. We allow others to control our lives because of fear.  We loose ourselves and our self esteem along with it.  It is not good to let self pity take over our thoughts.  I go to confession if I see myself being controlled by negative thoughts and fearing what others think about me.   Winston Churchill said “ You have enemies?  Good that means you’ve stood up for something, sometime in your life.  A lot of people are afraid to tell the truth, to say no.  That’s where toughness comes into play.  Toughness is not being a bully.  It’s having a backbone.

Philippians 4:8

8 Finally, brothers, let your minds be filled with everything that is true, everything that is honorable, everything that is upright and pure, everything that we love and admire — with whatever is good and praiseworthy.

We are all insecure some way or another.  The devil has known you from birth and knows how to push your buttons.  We must resist the devil and he will flee.  So the above scripture is for you to remember about yourself.  Here is what you say,

I am worthy and a success because I am smart.  Even if others reject me I will not believe them.  I am confident and will not compare myself to anyone.  I am good enough for everything and everyone in my life.  I will no longer listen to other’s words with the wounded child that lives in me, who needs acceptance and love.  I am a Saint, Chosen, Holy, Dearly Loved by God.

Self-deprecating is often disguised as humility and that is a lie.  God’s word say “I do all things through God who strengthens me” Philippians 4:13.  What do you tell yourself, this is more important than what others call you.  Are you too young like Jeremiah?  Do you have a speech impediment like Moses, How about too old, too stupid without degree and the self deprecating can go on and on.  How long will you continue to accept your own self abuse.  Who is the accuser?  Who loves us just as we are flaws and all?  Do not believe you are not good enough.  You are Worthy, Intelligent, Competent, Confident and totally sufficient in everyway.  Does that make you feel uncomfortable?  Accept that you are perfect for what God has chosen you to do for him.  However, do not get overly full of yourself and forget that God has done it all and you need to continue to turn to Him.

“By the grace of God I am what I am.” 1 Corinthians 15:10

Everything you have is for Gods Glory.

If you are different GOOD, it has a very important purpose.

Who makes you different from anyone else?  What do you have that you did not receive?  And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? 1 Corinthians 4:7

So do not get puffed up if you are in favor and do not get discouraged if your being persecuted.  Stay balanced and know where everything you have comes.  Success comes in many different ways.  God is a God of surprises.m

My church is not listening to me.  They have their own agenda and it is not to do with me.  It is to do with the world and its agenda. Where are my shepherds?  Why have they abandoned me with the agenda of the world.  I will destroy all that has been built.  My waiting is over!  If you think you are above persecution, read my word.  I am allowing all to fall it is over.  Repent before it is too late.  You do evil where you think no one sees.  I see and my patience has run out.  I have waited so long and you have continued in your evil.  Now is the time for sorrow and painful regrets.  Stop before it is too late and all is lost.

I am disconnected from the church community.  I am liked every where but church community.  I am excluded from the community of believers.  I know that God is showing me how others feel when they enter a church.  I do have many prayer partners and have my blog www.woundedinourmidst.com , WOW women of wisdom podcast with Ellen Mongan do 2 hours of prayer a day and mentor and I am mentored by them.

I have just returned from my vacation to visit my daughter.  On my way home there was 12 hours to think and plan my days.  I have been going downtown to a church that is beautiful and has priests that give good sermons.  My husband and I believe in being friendly with everyone around us and we have such good conversations with the young couples. We also pray for everyone of them. The church has mass at 12:00 noon for daily mass.  It is hard to go to daily mass because the of parking is a problem and can be costly.  We have a church close to us, we do not feel welcome.  I made the mistake of going in and introducing myself, when we moved there 5 years ago.  I took a video of a Christian t.v. program that I had made earlier in the year to show the priest.  The priest is from Poland and he said to give it to the church secretary and she would tell him about it.  I then was ignored and my husband was too.  Not sure what happened but I guess I was not humble enough.  Anyway this is a pattern everywhere.  I call it a DISCONNECT. The priests at the other church even wrote a article about people who nag, because I had been excited and tried to tell him about a great book called, the friendship project.  When I finished telling him he walk away and said nothing.  I got the message that I am an aggravation.  He then let me know in his article ,he writes in bulletin , that I was a nag.  He mentioned about someone telling him about a book, who was nagging.   So back to coming home and making plans for my spiritual life.  I decided that daily mass was important to go everyday.  So I made the decision to go to the church that is close to my home for daily mass no matter how we were treated.  So my husband and I went today.   They did not remember us and that was good.  I would have loved to finish my prayers after mass but they were going to say the rosary.  So I decided to leave and go home and finish my prayers.  I got a sarcastic remark “God Bless you”, for not staying.  It hurts me deeply to receive such rejection, but contrary to what they think of me, I know God loves me.

I am writing this with total forgiveness.  Please do not think that I am angry.  I am in great pain about those who are hurting and not returning to the church because of the Disconnect.  I am a firm believer in THE TRUTH SETS YOU FREE.  Jesus said FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.

Everyday I meet many who are unchurched.  My family members also, who have left because of how I was treated through the years.  They just do not want the drama and are turned off by the disconnect.

This pains my heart for all those whose families believe as mine and do not go to church.

I have written about hardened hearts in my previous blogs but now I am writing about DISCONNECT.  So here are some of the disconnects I see in the body of Christ.

The people in church come and go and do not feel the need to know anyone, do anything,  give more than $1.00 or even give nothing .

One ministry in the church does not interact with another ministry only to compete.

Religious education for children does not include parents at same time.

Older members not connected with the younger members.

Parishioners only take and are not expected to give.  When they give and it is not accepted.

Do not upset anyone with the truth!    FEAR

Only the perfect are accepted in church.  All others are rejected.

Present Leadership does not prepare the young for leadership and the ministry dies on the vine.

Priests fear of new people so only the click stays and runs anyone new off.

Leadership taken for granted no gratitude just criticism, causing discouragement. Priests and Laity

I have been praying for 2 seminarians for over a year and I wrote and told them.  Never heard back. Why?

No one likes to be taken for granted even our priests.  We must try harder as a church to be more welcoming and not so fearful.  I was baptized in the Holy Spirit 40 years ago by a exorcist priest.  I then was called Charismatic. After moving then mistreated and judged.  I was thrown out to the wolves without a shepherd to help me. No spiritual direction to tell me about my prophetic gifts, and God took care of me.  God is still leading me.  I will continue to write how I feel and do as God calls me.  After all these years I finally have been given a spiritual director.  Pray for Sr. Nancy Christopher, to help me.  This has helped me feel apart of the church.

Body of Christ

The upper cervical holds the head onto the body and if it is disconnected from the head, all of the body is totally out of whack.  All types of illness occurs.   The Body of Christ needs healing.  We should never take for granted our leadership and let them go astray.  We should connect to them and say how we feel.  We should not let them go astray and believe the worlds teachings.  We should encourage them to be strong and fight for the truth.  We should fight for the truth.  The ten commandments should be their law not intellectual mumbo jumbo.  Encourage them to have common sense.  Scriptures says that in end times even the elect will become deceived.  We must be prayerful people and not be deceived.  We should not get a big head if we are called to lead in the church and stay there forever.  We should always look for ones to encourage to be able to take our place in leadership and support them forever.

Why I am writing, is to encourage change in the BAD attitude of disconnect into HEALTHY CONNECTEDNESS with everyone no matter who they are, just like Jesus did.

Proverbs 13:12  Hope deferred makes the heart sick but a longing fulfilled is the tree of life.”

When leadership loses hope for any reason the Body of Christ is sick.  It is all about perspective.  When we rise above the storm, all is bright and sunny.  Let the eyes of Christ body show you the truth.  Ask Mary to heal your heart and replace it with her immaculate heart.

Jeremiah 29:11  For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil to give you a future and hope.

Silence is Love

How do you feel about Silence? Does it hold hands with self control? Is it the worst game another person can do to ignore and be silent? There is power in silence. We need silence to write, watch t.v., think, pray and just gather ourselves. Intraverts need more silence than xtraverts. One of the reasons I loved the Catholic Church was the intense silence that I felt engulfed in peace. I now know that the Eucharist present in the tabernacle was the peaceful quietness of God. That silence was deeper and stronger than any other. My whole being was listening intently and all my senses were opened to receive love.

Let’s pause and listen to the still small voice of God. We cannot hear this quiet voice in lives if we are never still and silent. We have to make time to listen. Listening needs practice and patience. If we listen intently we can hear Gods message in a small child, old man, reading bumper sticker, a fat woman or man, the bum, and especially in Gods word. God is in everything and everyone no matter how insignificant. Saint Francis “In prayer more is accomplished by listening then by talking. “

So as I am working on the importance silence in my life and I found scriptures to help me improve my life. I find it very hard to know the right time to speak in certain situations. It is good to be silent so that you do not regret later anything you say. If it is someone else’s business it is good to be silent about it. It is good to be silent when you do not have all the facts in any situation. Silence can fill the room when something bad happens. It is uncomfortable to be silent in times when others are hurting. However is best to listen to them without advice. I find myself asking for self control to help me be silent. Always be silent if your words will offend the weaker person. Basically be silent when it is time to listen.

In friendship it is good to be prudent and ask God for wisdom. It is good to be silent when you are angry in the heat of a moment. Be silent if your words will damage a friendship. When your words will convey the wrong impression, be silent. Do not say anything you will be ashamed of later. Do not say anything that will damage someone else’s reputation. Be silent if you are tempted to lie. Also if you are tempted to be critical be silent. Do not say anything if you have to yell. It is better to be silent then to have to eat your words later.

When it comes to Holy actions, be silent when you are tempted to make light of Holy things. Be silent when you are tempted to joke about sin. Most of all be silent of your words will be poor reflection of the lord and your family or friends.

Have you ever tried to talk to someone who only wanted you to hear them. It is very selfish and I find it frustrating. Listening is a gift when someone really hears what you are saying and understands without judgement. It might not be what you actually say but they know your deep feelings on any issue. What a joy it is to receive that kind of listening. They are not trying to fix you but really hear your deepest feelings. I am trying to listen that way because

It is a gift of grace from God. We have to practice this especially if you are a talker like me. When I am able to accomplish that kind of listening, we both are healed and truly united in love.

During my prayer time I heard TIME IS SHORT.  My thoughts went to, how in my lifetime Evil Has grown quickly.  Not only has it grown it has been said that Evil is ok.  Many years ago it’s was said there is no Hell.  Now everyone is disconnected from family, Church, Country so much so we are in danger. Our news is owned by people with an agenda that cannot be trusted.  We have blinked and we are being taken over by pagan countries.  Our youth are being wooed by socialist ideas.  Our only answer is to act quickly to keep this evil, from changing our Christian country forever.  We have been safe and taken it for granted, while evil has been destroying our values.  Time is short and we must wake up!  So evil is growing and we too must be growing in our spiritual lives.  The scripture Romans 5:20  where sin abounds Grace abounds much more. What are you spending too much time on in your life.

So how should we spend our time?  Since I have been shown the topic for our next podcast.   I immediately have been looking at how I use my time.  I know we should put God first, Husband second, then children and then our parents as per scripture.  I have been praying for self-control in all these areas of time.  It is also important to say no to the things that take too much of our time.  The internet takes too much of my time.  So I am working on balance in my life.

It is important to make time for the wonder of Gods creation.  Going to a beautiful garden and take in the incredible creation of our loving God.  In the beauty and silence and peace we are filled with awe.  Making time for the beauty of nature can be great for our self esteem.

In my opinion of this message that “The Time is Short”, we need to stop taking our faith for granted and begin to grow quickly.  We need to be doing what God made us to do.

God does not make junk, a saying from awhile ago. Still very true. When God made me he Laughed. I am learning to take myself not too seriously and lighten up. I will not listen to gossip about me or any criticisms to discourage me from fulfilling Gods will in my life.

Learning to see yourself as God see you

Meditate on the commandments of God. Study them to bring your sins into the light so that you can see yourself in the Truth of God. God loves us in a way that is impossible to understand. His love transcends all understanding. He looks at us with complete understanding. God wants the best for us. He helps us in the perfect way to encourage us to change. Pray for God to show you what He wants to change in you now. If God wanted us to be perfect he would have made us perfect. We are a part of His bigger plan for us all.

Learning to Love yourself as God loves you. He loves you and wants you to be strong. God did not make you perfect and does not expect you to be perfect. God expects us to repent and lean on him for everything. He wants you to trust His mighty power in your life. I know that God loves me and therefor I must love myself, not eat or drink too much, exercise, be prudent in my ways, and pray for good health for me and others. In other words say No and realize my limitations. Do not beat myself up if I am corrected but learn from it. Let God be God.

Learning to love others as God loves them

When I see how God loves and enjoys us as his own. I begin to look at everyone differently. I see the goodness in them rather than the small amount of bad. It is easier to forgive them quickly. So much time is wasted on negative thinking, listening to gossip, judging things that are none of our business, instead of praying for understanding. Our world has become more and more evil. We are influenced by T.V., movies, books, songs, and we do not even realized how it enters our thinking and takes our time. Politics is a good example on how we think negative of another person for no reason accept they do not think like us. It all comes down to choosing to LOVE and not listening to negative. Just breath in the Love of God and meditate on His love for us, forgive and be happy.

Growing in gratitude time well spent

It is easy to complain about everything but not easy to see the good and be grateful. What surprise when you begin to look for the good. Immediately our attitude changes to positive thoughts. Like I can walk, hear, see, and live in a country with laws and safety. Gratitude lengthens our lives and brings joy to everyone. There is always something to be grateful about. Like love it is a decision to be grateful.

Taking care of ourselves responsibly and making time

Whoever requires bodily rest should take a breathing space in her room. And when no outer rest whatever is attainable, when there is no place in which to retreat…. she must for a moment seal off herself inwardly against all other things and take refuge in the Lord. He is indeed there and can give us in a single moment what we need. Saint Teresa Benedicta of the Cross. In our day we must exercise, drink plenty of water, eat healthy, pray, and repent of our sins and make time for fun. Do not take on more than we can accomplish by saying no. No is a complete sentence. No guilt, remember that anything else is pride. We are not God. Be prudent and stay away from extremes and vices; over eating, drinking too much, and any other sin. Bad habits harm our bodies the temple of the Holy Spirit. Which will shorten our time on earth

Taking time to care of others responsibly

God set of a order of things. God first, then spouse, then children and the time that is left for all others. If we keep that in mind we will not be confused on what is most important. Our children need to be cared for mentally, spiritually, physically, emotionally, and education. Children also need to be made accountable for their actions and age appropriate chores. Our spouses come first and should be given special time. Prayer helps us accomplish all things without feeling overwhelmed. Let go and let God.

Time is

Too Slow for those who Wait,

Too Swift for those who Fear,

Too Long for those who Grieve,

Too Short for those who Rejoice;

But for those who Love,

Time is not.

by Henry Van Dyke

Processing the past and growing from it

Learning to forgive ourselves and others

Pope St. John Paul 11 has insightfully observed, seems so daunting precisely because it is paradoxical:

Forgiveness is not a proposal that can be immediately understood or easily accepted; in many ways it is a paradoxical message. Forgiveness in fact always involves an apparent short-term loss for a real long-term gain…. Forgiveness may seem like weakness, but it demands great spiritual strength and moral courage, both in granting it and in accepting it. It may seem in some way to diminish us, but in fact it leads us to a fuller and richer humanity, more radiant with the splendor of the Creator.

Growing in trust for God and others

So you sow so shall you reap. Trusting God is a choice. Gods merciful love should help us Trust Him completely, because of His allowing Jesus to die for our sins. Jesus conquered death and was raised from death. Another reason to trust God. If we accept Gods merciful love it will be easy to trust others. We will be able to love them as God loves us. Because He first loved us we can love others.

Separating the “real me” from the “me” I make up in my head

What a problem it is to see ourselves as God sees us. If we do examination of conscience. It will help some. But we are unable to understand Jesus when he speaks to us personally. So we must pray for ourselves to see the truth of our faults. It is possible and does help us love everyone. Because we are really busy trying to see the truth about ourselves and let go of the lies we believe about ourselves.

Resetting my expectations

Being realistic is prudence. Letting yourself laugh at your mistakes is humility. Let God be God this releases you to be human and grow at your own pace. Not at the pace of someone else. Do not compare your success with anyone else. Let God change you in His timing.

Holding myself accountable

No more blaming!!! Ask God to show you how he sees you. Be open to your faults. Go to confession when the Holy Spirit reveals your sin. This is how you become accountable. When you are drawn by the Holy Spirit to accomplish a work for God. Be open to it and get spiritual direction. Change the world. Only you can accomplish what God has planned for you to do for him on this earth. TIME IS SHORT. Live in the Now. Do not Judge. Do not fear. You do not know everything God is doing in your life. Have Mercy and trust in God. Go into all the world and spread the good news. GOD LOVES YOU.

Never will we understand the value of time better than when our last hour is at hand. Saint Arnold Jannseen

The book that inspired me to write Time Is Short

Ecclesiastes 3

* There is an appointed time for everything,

and a time for every affair under the heavens.

A time to give birth, and a time to die;

a time to plant, and a time to uproot the plant.

A time to kill, and a time to heal;

a time to tear down, and a time to build.

A time to weep, and a time to laugh;

a time to mourn, and a time to dance.

A time to scatter stones, and a time to gather them;

a time to embrace, and a time to be far from embraces.

A time to seek, and a time to lose;

a time to keep, and a time to cast away.

A time to rend, and a time to sew;

a time to be silent, and a time to speak.

A time to love, and a time to hate;

a time of war, and a time of peace.

a What profit have workers from their toil?

I have seen the business that God has given to mortals to be busied about.

b God has made everything appropriate to its time, but has put the timeless* into their hearts so they cannot find out, from beginning to end, the work which God has done.

c I recognized that there is nothing better than to rejoice and to do well during life.

Moreover, that all can eat and drink and enjoy the good of all their toil—this is a gift of God.

I recognized that whatever God does will endure forever; there is no adding to it, or taking from it. Thus has God done that he may be revered.

*d What now is has already been; what is to be, already is: God retrieves what has gone by.

2 Timothy 3

The Dangers of the Last Days.*

But understand this: there will be terrifying times in the last days.a

People will be self-centered and lovers of money, proud, haughty, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, irreligious,b

callous, implacable, slanderous, licentious, brutal, hating what is good,

traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,

as they make a pretense of religion but deny its power. Reject them.c

For some of these slip into homes and make captives of women weighed down by sins, led by various desires,d

always trying to learn but never able to reach a knowledge of the truth.e

Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so they also oppose the truth—people of depraved mind, unqualified in the faith.f

But they will not make further progress, for their foolishness will be plain to all, as it was with those two.

Paul’s Example and Teaching.*

You have followed my teaching, way of life, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance,

persecutions, and sufferings, such as happened to me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra, persecutions that I endured. Yet from all these things the Lord delivered me.g

In fact, all who want to live religiously in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.h

But wicked people and charlatans will go from bad to worse, deceivers and deceived.

But you, remain faithful to what you have learned and believed, because you know from whom you learned it,i

and that from infancy you have known [the] sacred scriptures, which are capable of giving you wisdom for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.j

* All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness,*

so that one who belongs to God may be competent, equipped for every good work

Hurting In The Church

A way Forward For Wounded Catholics

By Fr. Thomas Berg

It has been 40 years later and I find myself still healing.  I was a leader of a charismatic prayer meeting in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida.  First mistake putting me a, 33 year-old baby Christian, in leadership.  The scripture warns not to put babies in leader-ship.  To be fair the seminary did not teach their priests well enough.   Proof we are all learning.  I had read that it was good to sit before Jesus on the alter and pray and listen.  I began to meditate immediately, I felt a powerful presence of God.  I was taken into hell and I saw a small cylinder and looking down it was like stone people.  Suddenly Satan came down and turned into fire and filled the cylinder.  Immediately I was taken up into a room with a small child playing.  I knew it was my first child that I lost.  Then I went into another place where I saw a beautiful palace with no walls and I knew it was going to be my home, after death.  Later I learned that the walls weren’t there because I was not protected by my own prayers and others.  I was wide open for attacks of the devil.  Then I was taken into a pink and blue cloud and I could not move when God Spoke.  I was overcome by Gods mighty power almost to not being able to breath.  God said, “Cure the sick, Heal the brokenhearted and anoint my little ones.”  It was amazing!  I then went over from the chapel to Mass.  It was a Charismatic Mass.   It was during the peace be with you part of the Mass that the priest came down off the alter to wish us all peace.  When he came to me he gave me a passionate kiss on the mouth.  I was devastated and blamed myself.  I went to morning Mass without make-up and the Handmaids of the Sacred Heart were at Mass.  They came from another parish and I attended their bible study.  They came over to me and ask to come to their home for breakfast.  When I went they began to tell me that one of the other leaders of the prayer meeting had told them that I had proposed marriage to the Pastor of my church.  The priest that kissed me told this lie.  I told them how devasted and shocked that a priest would do such a thing to me.  They said that it is not the first time these things happen in the church.  I remember how stupid it made me feel.  I was so young and did not realize that he was human.   I know now how stupid it was to blame myself.  The real dilemma was my daughter was being confirmed soon after and I was not able to attend.  My husband took my daughter for her confirmation.  When the priest saw my husband he ran off the altar. Thank God my husband knew everything and trusted me.  This was such a humiliation for me.  They moved the priest to another church away and we moved to another town and I continued to go to the Catholic Church.

I have not shared about my abuse in writing but now I am confirming that the book HURTING IN THE CHURCH A Way Forward for Wounded Catholics by Fr. Thomas Berg is a message of love from God.  In 2015 I began to write www.woundedinourmidst.com for the persecuted and wounded people in the church and all who need God.  I wanted to share do not leave God because of something that someone of the church has done to hurt you.  Three years later a friend sent me a Catholic magazine that said wounded in the church, it had reminded her of my blog.  It was an article about Fr. Thomas Berg’s book “Hurting In The Church.”  Fr.Berg has written about his own hurt and betrayal and takes us on his journey for inner healing.  Which has allowed him understanding of our wounds, which he defends us all.  He questions in the book why evil is being swept under the rug and hidden.  This has given me so much hope and affirmed me in my quest to bring people back to the church, that have been alienated or abused.

Healing, understanding and forgiveness are the only attitudes that will heal the church.  Come back all you who are using persecution as an excuse to leave God.  You have been deceived.  Help those of us that are trying to bring change one day at a time

Alpha Center for Women exists to provide a safe, confidential, educational environment to assist men and women in unplanned pregnancy. We do not perform or refer for abortion.

However, we do educate on abortion procedures and all available life-affirming options. We are not here to pressure, but to give factual information so that our clients can make informed decisions about their pregnancies. Our desire is that every unborn life would be welcomed into our world, but our goal is to impart unmitigated truth about life before birth and the documented effects of abortion on men, women and relationships.

We offer material support before and after pregnancy, up to age 3. And we offer post abortion support to help on the healing journey for those struggling with a past abortion.

We are here for you. No matter what.
