MOTHERS HEART
PRAYER
Our Lady of Fatima, Today, we pray for an end to the suffering and injustice that plague so many parts of the world. Through the power of the Lord, you performed a miracle at Fatima and made the sun dance for thousands of people to see. Please intercede for those who are suffering.
Lord Jesus, the miracles, prophecies and prayers that Your Mother brought to us at Fatima amazed the whole world. We are certain of her closeness to You. We ask
through the intercession of Our Lady of Fatima that you graciously hear and answer our prayers.
A Mothers Heart
The first time I saw you I love you
Even before in my womb I was connected to you completely
you were mine to protect and enjoy and anticipate your needs
i was terrified to cause you any pain
i fed you, bathed you, and laughed when you laughed
I cried when you cried and anguished when I felt helpless to help you
i was proud of every accomplishment and suffered when you failed
i blamed myself for any cross you were given
When you became an adult it was hard to let go
It was so hard when motherly intuitions haunted me
When you got married it was hard to share
When you had children it was a great joy
i felt guilt when I could not let go and peace when i accomplished it
I am happy with all you have become and do not compare you to anyone else.
You are still apart of me and will always be
Your Mother who loves you just the way you are.

MY MOTHER
As a daughter I was thankless and never understood my mothers illness and how she was suffering. Instead I was imbarrassed and hid her mental illness. Children have no understanding they only want to be cared for and loved. My Mother became mentally ill when I was 13. I was very ashamed of her. She had shock treatments that caused damaged her memories. She could not remember how to cook and took medication that made her sleep all the time. Only my closest friends knew. I felt all alone and compared her with my friends mothers. Years later, I realized she was sick and what a cross it must have been to have a child that was ashamed of her. I know now that she was responsible for my spiritual growth. We did not go to church but we watched Billy Graham and Arch Bishop Sheen on t.v. . Later I realized that it was the foundation of all my religious training. My mother was very intelligent and had a wonderful sense of humor. Our Holidays were a filled with imagination and fun. She was full of advice like;
1. Eat your spinach and you will be strong like popeye the sailor.
2. Clean you plate the people in china are starving.
3. If you are too full for dinner your too full to eat dessert.
4. Theres a place for everything and everything in its place.
5. You can get more with honey than you can get with vinegar.
6. Idle hands is the devils workshop.
7. PUT CLEAN UNDERWARE IN CASE YOUR ARE IN A CAR ACCIDENT.
8. Dont say anything that cannot be put in newspaper.
9. A man will treat his wife like he treats his mother.
10. Cheaters never prosper.
I called my mother Ma and she was happy being my mother. She had lost many children before I was born. I was a only child and she enjoyed all I did for her and my father. I know now that she did her very best and I would not have been who I am today if not for her Moral teaching. Even though it was hard for me to raise 4 children without the help of my own mother. I did have my husbands mother and she was great. I really appreciated her mothering me. My memory of a priest during a sermon saying MARY IS YOUR MOTHER, was such a comfort to me. I also love when Jesus was on the cross, he said ” John, Mary is your mother now” and John took Mary into his life.
Often I think about Mary and her sorrows. I also like to think of what fruit was grown with the suffering of our Heavenly Mother;
The sword in the heart prophesy fear of God
Donkey ride 9 months pregnant to egypt generousity to the poor and piety
Anguish at Jesus loss chastity gift of knowledge
Seeing Jesus carrying the cross patience fortitude
Seeing Jesus martyr temperance gift counsel
Seeing the lance put in jesus heart charity understanding
Burial of Jesus virtue of diligence gift of wisdom
In conclusion I would like to say that the poem above is how much I love my children and grandchildren. I believe all mothers give all they are capable of and love their children. They never leave their hearts ever. God made us to be helpmates and we are best when we act in that role.

Very touching and inspiring. Yes, the suffering need our prayers. Also the earthbound, those in darkness on both sides of the veil.
May God’s peace, love and light reach and remain in all who read this.
AMEN
